Dr. Trent Cluny, OD
Managing Director, Optometrist

Dr. Cluny grew up in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School in 1998. He attended Pacific University College of Optometry where he graduated with distinction in 2009. While there he served as a member of the student council and worked as an interpreter in the University’s Vision center. He was a member of the Optometric Honor’s Society.

He worked in clinical research and studied pre and post-operative LASIK care before joining an optometry practice in Olympia, Washington where he practiced for 10 years, before finding a welcome opportunity to move back to his home town. While in Washington he was actively involved with the local chamber of commerce and volunteered time at a community clinic providing no-cost vision exams in English and Spanish for uninsured community members.

Dr. Cluny is married to Hanni and they have three children that they are happy to raise here in  He has become a board member of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, given presentations to UCSD #1’s Transportation Department, and enjoyed meeting so many people in the community.

Marquee, Technician

Marquee was born in Evanston and has lived here for most of her life. She has 5 children, 2 grandchildren, and 6 dogs.  She stays very busy. She started working at Advanced EyeCare in the summer of 2021 and continued on with Uinta Eye and Vision in October of 2021, when Dr. Cluny purchased the practice and Dr. Atkinson retired.

Marquee has been studying to become a certified optometric technician.  She has almost three years of experience running tests to help monitor glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and visual field defects.

She also serves as our contact lens technician.  She completes almost all of the orders for contact lenses, in addition to teaching new contact lens wearers how to insert, remove, and properly care for contacts. She can also order, dispense, and adjust glasses for patients.

Erika, Optician

Erika began working at Uinta Eye and Vision in the spring of 2022. Erika has born and raised in Evanston and has one daughter. Erika, like Dr. Cluny, is fluent in Spanish, so if you would prefer to ask questions about your appointment or treatment options in Spanish, she is more than happy to converse in Spanish.

Erika loves working with people. She enjoys helping each person who comes in pick glasses that they will love, because as she says glasses are an everyday accessory. She has studied the different lenses available and which best suit patients’ lifestyles as well. 

Erika often starts by sizing a patient to determine which size of glasses will give them the best viewing area, with the fewest distortions.  She can recommend options, based off of preferences and any difficulties a patient may have experienced in the past.  She also is experienced in ordering safety glasses for patients who need them for work.

Mariah, Float

Mariah began working at Uinta Eye and Vision in the summer of 2023.  Mariah, previously worked in an optometry clinic for three years and is cross-trained in all aspects of optometry.  She and her husband have young children, so Mariah works part-time.

She has experience completing many of the pre-tests that patients do before seeing Dr. Cluny.  She also can work with patients to select frames, discuss lens options, and build orders.  She adjusts glasses and posts payments from insurance companies and vision plans.

Jess, Billing Specialist

Jess began working at Uinta Eye and Vision in the fall of 2023.  Jess, completed schooling as an insurance billing specialist.  She has worked in multiple medical offices, but this is her first time working in optometry.

She is usually the first person to greet you when you come to the office, but there are days when she will also complete your testing or dispense your glasses, when Marquee and Erika are out. 

She has a great knowledge of insurances and is happy to discuss insurance’s explanation of payments to patients.  She works to verify insurance coverage before each appointment to help make things run as smoothly as possible

Brooke, Front Desk

Brooke began working at Uinta Eye and Vision in the spring of 2024.  She is working to be cross-trained in all aspects of optometry.  Brooke researches vision plan benefits for patients and helps in frame selection and adjusting of glasses.  She is learning more about optical lenses and which lenses are the best for each patient.  Brooke is training on the billing process for vision plans for the different lens options.

Brooke enjoys time outside with her family, especially participating in baseball and softball.

Community Relationships

Uinta Eye and Vision is an active member of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce,  and are sponsors of Uinta Recycling, Evanston Cowboy Days, Evanston Outlaw (American Legion Post 41) Baseball and one of the sponsors of the Almost Summer Winter Luau 2021.
