The Difference Between Optomotrists and Opticians

Optometrist, Ophthalmologist, and Optician Do you know the difference?

Optometrist

Doctors of Optometry are primary health care providers for the eyes. Optometrists examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye. Dr. Cluny at Uinta Eye and Vision is an optometrist. Doctors of Ophthalmology do all of this and are able to perform more invasive treatment and surgery on the eye.

Optician

Opticians fit and repair glasses, grind and tint lenses, measure and make lens option recommendations for optimal vision with your prescription. Our opticians do not work on commission and want to provide you with the frame and lens options that best suit your visual needs.
